I am fortunate to meet countless women every week in my practice. I see some similarities among my patients, and many differences. Each woman has a story, a unique fingerprint and mission. Mary is 40 years old. She is tall and slender, with brown eyes and long, dark brown hair. Her hair started to get dry recently and she noticed the same dryness in her skin. Janice is 28 years old. With short blonde hair and moist, thick skin, Janice is a medium to heavily built woman who has struggled with weight her whole life. Denise is 56 years old. Her hair is a beautiful ebony color and she has a rich olive skin complexion. Her eyes are gorgeous, with long eyelashes and thick eyebrows. She has lived an amazing life so far, running a company, raising children, and being happily married.

Already Long Gone

Her doctor recommended an antidepressant, but she is reluctant, not having taken any medications for many years. She breaks down frequently but isn’t sure where the surge of emotions and frustrations is coming from. But this is what happens in most situations. Sure, the amount of calories may be tweaked a little, but that’s about as far as it goes for most plans. Each of us has different nutritional, physical, mental, and spiritual needs. That’s not what I do. I opened my doors back in 2009 with just one little office and one receptionist. At the time, my vision was to stay small and to still have plenty of time at home with my children. I was excited to offer people an alternative to the regular rushed doctor’s visit and the dismal and frustrating reality of running around from appointment to appointment that I’d experienced. The bank didn’t want to give me a loan for a holistic and integrative medical practice because they didn’t understand what I was doing. I remember overhearing one loan officer saying, What’s she doing, swinging chickens in the air and waving herbs around? I certainly did offer a different sort of experience. Business was slow at first, but my patients loved the results and improvements in health.

Word of mouth about my practice spread. By 2010, I needed to hire more clerical help and a nurse. I will never forget the look on his face the day he walked in to see his entire dental space taken over by my patients! From 2011 to today, we have seen more than 10,000 women in my practice and we’re still growing. Very few doctors and practices today take the time to put it all together or use multiple systems of medicine to arrive at that point. I have education and experience as an emergency medicine doctor, a pediatrician, and an integrative medical physician. These different systems of medicine stress the importance of discovering the power that comes when you respect and learn about the distinctiveness and uniqueness of each and every person. Looking at each woman from multiple perspectives and healing disciplines allows for a more complete picture of the challenges and issues facing each woman. The treatment plans that we offer differ from patient to patient. I have also built and trained a team of amazing providers to do the same. But which is right for you? I’m not trying to be vague, glib, or difficult. The reality is that each of us is truly different and your answers depend on who you are. I learned this through my own health discoveries and transformations, and through working on the health and life metamorphoses of thousands of women. Access to successful healing and maximized super powers depends specifically on who you are, what your energy level and metabolism are like, your body type, your unique chemical composition, family history, nutritional needs, genetics, and more. Some of you do better with vigorous exercise, while others do better with yoga and tai chi. Some of you have a proclivity for high blood pressure or stress, while others of you are not easily flustered. You might have sensitivities to dairy or gluten, or you may need more or less protein in your diet. You can predict the formula for your best health! The golden nuggets of information to super charge your health are not all elusive.
