Express Loves, Interests And Passions With Enthusiasm
Don’t our friends deceive us when they organise a surprise party for us? But experience this pain he must if he wants to reach the heavenly pastures that lay beyond. To develop the Lover is to be open to the truth that you may not be living a life that is in line with who you really are. The Lover accessed in a healthy, mature way, acts like an internal compass. The language of the Magician may be images, ideas or sounds, but the language of the Lover is emotion, and the man in touch with his lover will be constantly vigilant as to how he feels about his life situation. So the first thing a man can do to get in touch with his Lover is to stop everything he’s doing, sit still, and get in touch with how he feels. Do you all feel hopeless? Or do you feel satisfied? The way you are feeling is almost definitely going to be a mixture of words all wrapped up into one. I call this simple process ‘checking in with myself’. I use it as an internal compass to keep me on track in life. If I start to feel a growing sense of unhappiness, I know that I’m off course. Next, you need to get back in touch with what you love in life. If they do indulge, they have a feeling of shame around it. They hide it, deny it and make excuses for it if discovered.
No Smoke Without A Fire
The Lover and shame are like water and oil. They cannot coexist. To gain access to the Lover in his fullest, then, you need to get in touch with what you truly do love in the world, and own it. Guys believe that women aren’t attracted to a man who secretly likes Dungeons and Dragons. They’d be right, but only because he secretly likes it. One pickup artist guru I knew used to bring ritzy, socialite club women back to his apartment and get them playing Dungeons and Dragons with him. His unapologetic, unashamed passion for it was infectious, and his love for it was actually attractive. I believe that what we love, that feeling it gives us, is our very tangible connection to our soul. Now, I’m not talking about spirituality here. Or maybe I am, who knows. What we love in this world is our soul speaking to us. The extent to which we’re out of touch with or shamed by what we love, and by extension, our Lover, is the degree to which we are unfulfilled in life. You Can't Do That
The extent to which we are in touch with and express our Lover unapologetically and unashamedly is the degree to which we will enthrall women. Instead of compartmentalising your Lover into safe boxes away from the judgmental eyes of those you fear will judge you, start integrating your loves and passions into every aspect of your life. Lovers are only interested in sensual experience in the here and now. Any conversation will be all about evoking images, emotions and ideas that enrich the present moment with vivid experience. A Lover can be too much if unbalanced with the other archetypes, but can also be quite mesmerising. Ah that’s got to be the coolest job in the whole world. That has got the be the coolest experience. And seeing yourself on posters has got to feel weird. Get in touch with your internal emotional compass. Notice where you have compartmentalised your loves and passions and start integrating them into your whole life. Own your passions, let the haters hate, and you will push those away that do not align with your Lover and attract those to you who do. A little nonsense now and then, is cherished by the wisest men. Better Days
In a tough world with real problems and challenges, the Trickster archetype is probably the most undervalued because it’s positive effects on the world are less tangible. It is looked down upon as being immature, not belonging amongst the other more serious archetypes. The Magician is responsible for the acquiring of knowledge and the development of skill. The Warrior, the mastery and wielding of that skill through disciplined practice, and the relentless march through adversity towards the goal. The Lover gives all archetypes their reason for existing, allowing them to stop, smell the roses and enjoy life. So what of the Trickster? What value does this have? Surely this is an archetype we can cast aside? The Trickster exposes the truth through trickery and deception, which is why his value is so often disregarded. Sometimes we are closed off to the truth, ignoring it when we hear it, declaring it a blatant lie or error since it disagrees with our current world view. How then to make us see? Once we see the truth, we are grateful to the Trickster for having deceived us. All the archetypes can be channelled for good and bad, and it’s easy to see how Tricksters can make fools of us with their practical jokes. But used for good Tricksters are masters of cutting through illusion, through falsehood and revealing the truth. Zen masters are famous for tricking their students into doing all kinds of pointless tasks as a way of letting them discover truth. Even for entertainment and delight, we all like to be tricked. To have our realities seized temporarily out of our control. Isn’t this what happens every time we watch a movie? Didn’t your parents deceive you when they told you they couldn’t afford to get you a bike for Christmas, then when all the presents had been unwrapped, asked you to go and let the dog in from the garden where you discover a brand new bike? A characteristic of the Trickster is that he is detached from the world. Not as detached and completely in his mind as the Magician, but just enough to give him access to a unique skill. He’s not a club, diamond, heart, or spade.
