Automation Doesn't Have To Be High Tech

If you don’t email customers often, with regular intervals, they will most likely forget about you. The reason is simple. We are constantly in competition for space in the inbox. When people are putting their kids to bed or working in the yard, they are not exactly waiting for your email. If they only see your email infrequently, they are more likely to unsubscribe because they are less likely to relate to your rhythm. If you choose to email every day, do it at the same time. I get a Whole Foods email at the same time every day. If I don’t get an email, I forget about them and head off to get a pizza elsewhere. Sending an email at the same time every day creates consistency, creating a rhythm for your prospect to follow. If the subscriber learns that there is no set time to expect the email, she will soon forget about it and move on to other things. Write emails that ‘infotain’. Infotainment is a term coined for something that includes entertainment with information.

It Takes A Train To Cry

A good mix is 80% entertainment and 20% tactical and practical information that leads to something you are offering or selling. Writing in a unique style that reflects your personality and using elements of storytelling are some of the most effective ways to produce emails that entertain and sell at the same time. Consider how often your demographic would like to hear from you. How often would you like to connect with them? Make a decision and keep an eye on open rates and engagement and be ready to adjust your frequency. You now have your list of prospects, but can you treat them all equally? What if your list has 10 subscribers who joined today along with a bunch of people who already have signed up for your product? Quite clearly, both of them should not receive the same message from you. This process where the main list is divided into further groups based on a common denominator is called List Segmentation. In the above example, the common denominator for segmenting your list is the ‘stage of acquisition’ of the prospects. Another MailChimp observation shows that emails sent to lists that are segmented can lead to 60% more clicks and fewer bounces and unsubscribes. Who are the people interested in your pricing? Who has purchased from you? Who has downloaded the lead magnet? Who hasn’t opened your emails in the last 7 days? Segmentation is possible at a very sophisticated level in order to target niche interests and products. Segmentation could be the key to your entire business because if your contact won’t click on the email because it’s not relevant to them, the autoresponder ranks you a bit lower. This leads to your email being sent into spam, lowering your chances of success drastically. Consider the factors that are important for you to know and use segmentation to increase engagement.

Find My Way

Remember that your business begins with the relationship you build with your visitors. The entire journey can be greatly enhanced and eased with the right use of technology and a knowledge of customer acquisition principles. Effective email marketing is the foundation for your customer journey which can be your growth strategy. Mompreneurs hire me to help them scale their business without overwhelm, a big team, or a big budget. I’m on a mission to make business S.I.M.P.L.E so that you can make money without sacrificing your freedom. The one thing every mompreneur needs to know when she’s on the verge of burnout or considering giving up because she can’t keep juggling the demands of work, clients, and family all by herself is to keep things as simple as possible in order to leverage your time, money, energy and mental bandwidth. As a mompreneur, you probably started your business with a vision of having more freedom and flexibility and being able to make money doing what you love, working when and where you want, and being free to spend quality time with your children and family. It’s the entrepreneurial dream! But it doesn’t always pan out as we hoped. Because most people don’t take the time to consider what freedom and flexibility really means, specifically to them, personally and professionally. That’s why it’s necessary to evaluate what your dream life would actually look like right from the start. When you get clear and specific on exactly what you want in life, it’s easier to make decisions, prioritize projects, and decide how much time you are able to and want to spend on your business.

Climb That Hill

This will help you focus your energy on what you love doing. When you let your business dictate how things need to be done, it can take over your life and drain your passion and energy. That is what ultimately takes you away from having all the fun and freedom that you really want. I’ve seen so many creative and talented women give up because they can’t handle the pressure any longer. This is heartbreaking because I know that the solution is very simple. When you know what to do, all it takes is a few small tweaks to turn things around and take back control of your business. Evaluating is important because it forces you to take inventory of what is happening in your business and your life right now. When you take the time to evaluate, you are giving yourself an opportunity to decide how you want to move forward. This will help clarify your goals, which in turn helps you prioritize the ideas and projects that take you closer towards your goal and eliminate anything that takes you away from it. I suggest you ask yourself a series of questions to clarify how your business is aligned with supporting your life goals and where you may need to make adjustments. When you hear the word automation, you might immediately think technology and feel a bit intimidated. But automation doesn’t have to be high tech.
