Finding The Right Words To Say
Getting out and being with others who care for you and for whom you care leads to good feelings, dissipates loneliness, and causes happy moments. This is a powerful happiness enhancer because when you give of yourself, you don’t have time to think about how your boss is irritating you or how you are worried about your boyfriend. You are busy engaging with life and sharing your bounty. Giving shines a light on how abundant you really are. There are endless ways to give and share your own inner goodness. In your journal, make a list of ways you can give back. Share your joy with animals by volunteering at your local animal shelter or hugging and loving your pets or others’ pets. Choose one or two items from your list that interest you, and commit to doing one or more today. When you give and share, you tap into your love for others as well as yourself. That love naturally spills over to you. Giving from the heart lights a flame of kindness, forever illuminating your world. My senses are alive with pleasure and joy. Go back to it each day and try to do another activity. Take ownership of your enjoyment of life and make a commitment to experience life’s pleasure on a daily basis. When you are enjoying life and are in touch with your body, you radiate more confidence and feel happier. Our senses are the lavish gift of being human. I let new experiences enliven my being and awaken new, amazing parts of my being. I experience life with joy and receive its bliss. When I was in my late teens, I visited my friend Kelly, who worked at Disney World in Florida. We went to the newest water park at the time, Typhoon Lagoon. We got to an activity in which guests wore masks and snorkels and swam over a massive tank of tropical fish. I’d never been snorkeling before. I was nervous because the tank was full to the brim with fish. Would they move out of the way? Would they touch me and be slimy? I got in and they were so vivid and so close that I had a primal reaction. I jumped out of the water onto a rock, shrieking. My best friend came up on the rock, took my hand, and said, I know you are going to like this. Come in. We got back in and swam through, holding hands, and she was right. We went though again, and I gained confidence around the fish and in the water. Later in life, I moved to Hawaii. But if I had not tried it in Disney and had a supportive friend to walk me through it, I would never have known.
