Can I Do That?

A huge difference and shift in your energy take place when you say, I’m grateful for the way I look. In my case, I said, I’m incredibly grateful for this body that has given birth to four beautiful human beings and allows me to live and breathe. The whole energy and vibration of the way your entire being moves through all moments changes based on how you are speaking to yourself. When you ask yourself, Can I do that? As we take these first steps in assessing our lives, we need to take a look within at how we are speaking to ourselves. It’s all in the way things are worded. How others speak to you and their assessment of you can also be valuable tools. Others may see something in you that you just don’t quite see yet. These are two of the best and most incredible believers in others whom I know. First let’s meet Barbara, who has found her way to train and assist thousands of people, including myself, to become Certified Professional Coaches. Barbara is masterful at helping others assess their lives, and being mentored by her is an honor. Since 2006, my company has trained and certified over 6,500 professional life coaches in the Wainwright Method of Coaching. Here’s a quick share about my backstory and how I transitioned into the coaching industry.

Never Going Back Again

Never Going Back Again

I was a software engineer for many years. For the last ten years of that time, I had the intuitive push that I was supposed to do something other than develop software. I explored many different avenues, and nothing seemed quite right until I discovered the coaching world. I instantly knew that coaching was the path I had been seeking. However, I was committed 100 percent to staying on the path where my heart had led me. The ability to analyze and assess software and the needs of the end user seemed to apply to coaching individuals as I was assessing why people get stuck and what is needed to implement lasting change. In addition to my analytical skills, my research into psychology, spirituality, personal development, and metaphysics became a valuable asset when creating the Wainwright Method of Coaching. When I looked at the big picture of coaching and accreditation, I discovered that it had been overcomplicated. Coaching isn’t hard, yet some organizations had created courses that lasted for nine months or even two years. One accrediting organization requires 120 hours of training. With coaching, you will learn how to encourage and motivate others to step into their greatness. It begins with an assessment.

Another Part Of Me

Are your mind and spirit in alignment? I believe that tapping into your life purpose and staying true to your heart are very important motivators. Meditation helps to clear the minutia from your mind so that you can discover and focus on what is most important. Are you taking care of your physical body? Are you feeding your soul? Do your habits enhance your life? Are you consistent with striving to improve? Are your actions congruent with your words? Are you trustworthy? Do you finish what you start? When asking yourself questions, pay attention to your language and the phrases that pop into your mind. You may be astonished at the disheartening messages stored in your subconscious mind. You may hear words like never, always, everyone. Such generalizations most likely don’t apply to you. Being specific in your communication with yourself and others will leave little room for your words to be misconstrued. At the end of your day, take another assessment. Express gratitude for gifts received. From the perspective of your divine purpose, ask yourself, Were my actions today in alignment with my goals? Reviewing your day to discern if your actions were on point with your purpose is a personal growth technique that can pave the way for staying in alignment with your calling, which will result in both inner and outer success. In our course, we teach coaches how to write a vision statement for their clients. The impact is a 100 percent wow! A vision statement helps clients see themselves being successful.

Climbing Up The Walls

It helps to reprogram the subconscious mind to be in alignment with the creative conscious mind, which is a key factor in a client’s success. Over the years, I have witnessed many people receiving their vision statements. I’ve had many clients call me and share that everything that was written in their vision statement came to pass. First meditate to clear your mind. Let go of what you’ve been told to do. Next, focus on your heart. Feel your heartbeat. Allow your heart to speak to you and to express its divine inspiration. Then write down what you are called to do. Know that the right doors will open for you when you are following this path. Imagine your best life. Imagine everything falling into place for you to easily accomplish your goals. Write your goals as if everything is already complete. Then record it and listen to it often. Orchestrating the physical tasks of being present for your family, work, and social circle, balancing the basic decisions to ensure you are being a good human must be ingrained in your behaviors. Our most undervalued commodity is time, and how we utilize and manage it should be heavily much appreciated. We seem to emphasize successes and social positions based on what levels in academia, sport, or business have been achieved, your foundation and then many subsequent factors will ultimately determine how the journey will unfold. My life began to make a shift. Now in hindsight, we all can recognize the magnitude and value of important times, but in the moment, they can seem trivial and even tedious. After losing my cousin and friend and separating from my wife, I became a single father of two young boys. Those traumas affected me, but the shift was truly felt during a trip to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. I was approached by a group to prepare them all for the climb.
